CLAIMS
Communication
Three point continual contact is vital to proactive and smooth claim success. The adjuster must be communicative to all parties. The employer must work with the employee to communicate support, assist in directing medical attention and assure that appropriate modified duty is followed. The physicians must not only provide quality attention, but they must also communicate expectations and care plans to all involved.
Audits
All open indemnity files are reviewed and discussed periodically. Care plans, reserves and alternative treatment options are analyzed. In addition, Key Indicator reports on key areas are reviewed monthly by the administrative team to deal manage individual issues and trends. These include patient transfer, slips & falls, combative patient incidents and those claims that require modified duty.
Advocacy
A principle reason that facilities participate in self-funded workers compensation programs is to have direct access to the claims management team. A dedicated claims team is responsible for all HSIFM Claims. They are a phone call or email away.
In addition, the HSIFM administrative team are seasoned in overseeing claims and act as the advocates of each facility with any issue arises. Sometimes an additional perspective can make all the difference in finding the right conclusion.
